Does it support key()? If so, then you could declare a key for
accessing the @ids:
<xsl:key name="ids" match="*[@id]" use="@id" />
And retrieve elements with that particular id using:
key('ids', $nodeId)
instead of:
//*[@id = $nodeId]
which would be more efficient.
