I discovered later that using the correct stylesheet there were no
errors. DAMN. i think i must have missunderstood some tutorial
somewhere, cause i thought they both work.

TIP FOR NEWBIES LIKE ME: 

Use ALWAYS this (you'l save a lot of time :P)

<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"; version="1.0">

instead of

<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl";>
