Another update: I should have done a little more research before I posted the original problem--my apologies. The Xalan processor does NOT demonstrate this behavior. I accidently had my code pointing to another processor (which does have the bug), but Xalan is not the culprit. Thanks to all who took the time to respond... When I use Mike's suggestion, I get the same results (40,000). When I use Jason's suggestion, it doesn't mess with it. Thought I'd share just in case anyone runs across the same issue... When I use, for example, <xsl:value-of > select="40000"/>, the result I see is "40,000" (with the > comma). Is there a way to get it to output without the > comma? ---- Did you try enclosing it in quotes so that Xalan thinks it's a string? <xsl:value-of select="'40000'"/> I would hope that it doesn't try to format that for you. Jason. ---- This behavior is incorrect, I would submit a bug report. You could try converting to a string first, select="string(40000)" Mike Kay XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
