Subject: RE: [xsl] New to XML - probably not yet worthy of your time: what is the use of XML? From: Rene de Vries <RdVries@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 4 Jul 2001 14:13:20 +0200 |
Hi Rueben,
You ask "also... what is the USE of XML?"
I haven't seen your XML, but it could be that the way you are using it
isn't very useful.
In my opinion the greatest advantage of using XML&XSL(T) for generating
(X)HTML is that you can fully seperate your data from your lay-out. In
this way you can update your data without touching your lay-out and
vice-versa. You also can present the same data in a different way just by
creating different XSL(T)'s. Also the data you use can be from an external
source which is updated regularly, which you want to display .
I'm sure you will discover the advantages of XML&X*.
Greetings Rene
