I want both icons to appear > no matter what. Using paths that start with a '/' should work, because they always go from the root node of the document that holds the current node. So if those aren't working, then I think you must be changing the document on which the XSLT stylesheet is working when the user clicks on the icon. You might therefore be able to get around this problem if you use the document() function to access the original document, and create a path that works relative to that, e.g. document('workbooks.xml')/discoverer/account/eul /workbook[@name = 'DISCADMIN.Cockpit'] Alternatively, if you know that you always want both icons to appear, then why not remove the xsl:ifs altogether and just always insert both icons? Do send more details about what the links access and so on if the above doesn't help.
