<META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-16">
....................................................................^ so just add </META> here, see below for the shortcut for this.
...it has no tag closure. This occurs only if I have a <HEAD> tag defined as part of my xsl file.
The XSL file :
<?xml version="1.0"?> <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0"> <xsl:output method="html" encoding="utf-8"/> <xsl:template match="/hello-world"> <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE> This is the title </TITLE>
<META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<!-- and better use the same encoding as you specify in xsl:output --> </HEAD>
<BODY>
<H1><xsl:value-of select="greeting"/></H1>
<xsl:apply-templates select="greeter"/>
</BODY>
</HTML>
</xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="greeter">
<DIV>from
<I><xsl:value-of select="."/></I>
</DIV>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
