Why are you trying to convert a string to a nodeset? If it's just a string use it directly. If the string contains XML that you want to have parsed you need pass it in as a nodeset in the first place. That's a little harder, but there have been several discussions on how to do this lately. In particular, for Xalan see: http://www.biglist.com/lists/xsl-list/archives/200203/msg01059.html XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
