 I think he needs to just output a reference, though. He has the relative
 reference and needs to merge it with the stylesheet's document URI to produce
 an absolute reference.

ah. I believe that's one of the functions added in xpath2, but I just
told Mike over on xml-dev that Xpath2 ought to be sent to follow xslt
1.1 into oblivion:-)
