Hi Zarana, The XSLT spec. answers your question: http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-xslt-19991116#variables But note that you can't modify a variable's value once assigned, so you can't use variables for counters. Use recursion instead. I've never heard of xsl:counter...
