although your post didn't really have enough information to deduce the
structure (no namespoace declarations for example) as stated all teh
time on this list posting complete small documents  and complete
stylesheet fragments makes life much easier.

Then neither of those apply-templates is producing any output.
remove them and you will get the same result.
