Subject: Re: [xsl] commenting in xslt2.0 - input-subtree to ouput-comment From: David Carlisle <davidc@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 23 May 2005 12:47:10 +0100 |
I've been trying things like:
<xsl:comment>
<xsl:copy-of select="//section[3]"/>
<xsl:comment>
comments contain text not nodes, so you can not copy nodes there, you
have to use templates (or an extension function) that serialises the XMl
tree into a text node.
so
<xsl:comment>
<xsl:apply-templates mode="verb" select="//section[3]"/>
<xsl:comment>
and
<xsl:template mode="verb" match="*">
<xsl:text><</xsl:text>
<xsl:value-of select="name()"/>
<xsl:apply-templates select="namespace:*|@*" mode="verb"/>
<xsl:text>></xsl:text>
<xsl:apply-templates select="node()" mode="verb"/>
<xsl:text></</xsl:text>
<xsl:value-of select="name()"/>
<xsl:text>></xsl:text>
</xsl:template>
and similar templates for attributes and namespaces. (the archives and
faq list have several fully worked examples of this)
