I only said xslt2 was your friend, not that it would help you...

Actually although the expression syntax is loosened up (and patterns
allow variables) you still can't do /[ in patterns, so back to the xlst1
way:


<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:choose>
 <xsl:when test="1=1">a</xsl:when>
 <xsl:when test="1=2">b</xsl:when>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:template>
