Yes, quite. Thanks for the correction. When not in a boolean context, 
one might avoid self::node()[local-name()='xyz'] as it also selects 
any self <xyz> elements you have cluttering your data. If you know 
you're on an attribute, the boolean test suffices.

Bottom line is that XPath 1.0 gives no way to select all attributes 
*except* a given one other than the resort to the name test.

XPath 2.0 can select "@* except attribute(xyz)", which is very nice.
