[xsl] cross references in xslt

Hello:

I have an xml in this format:

<list1 id="list3">
  <list2 id="list2">
       <list3>
       </list3>

   <list2>
<list2>

</list2>
</list1>

How can the id attaribute be handled to point to the right referenced
list number?
