Subject: Re: [xsl] Getting the current node, in a different document From: "andrew welch" <andrew.j.welch@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2006 10:36:57 +0100 |
Hello,
I have two different documents, file1.xml and file2.xml, with similar structure but different leaf nodes. I would like to do something like:
<xsl:for-each select="*[type='bar']"> value 1: <xsl:value-of select="id"> value 2: <xsl:value-of select="document('file2.xml')/$current_xpath_in_file1/description"> </xsl:for-each>
But that is obviously not a valid xpath! How could a acheive the same result using actualt xslt?
If you don't mind using extensions you could use a combination of saxon:evaluate() and saxon:path()
cheers andrew
