I think having XSLT 2.0 support on browser will be useful.
XSLT 2.0 on server side is certainly an alternative. But for e.g., I just have a plain HTTP Web Server with no Java support (Servlets, JSP etc), then I can serve XML+XSLT to the browser, and the browser can do the transformation.
