racked my brains for 3 days over this .. and I find the solution minutes
after sending the mail out to the list...
The style sheet had this set ..
<xsl:output method="html" omit-xml-declaration="yes" indent="yes" />
and <link> is a html tag with no closing element.
changing it to
<xsl:output method="xml" omit-xml-declaration="yes" indent="yes" />
fixed the problem.
