If I write an extension function that returns the DOCTYPE as a String, will this work ? Or will this still be a text node with a bunch of characters ? I have experience with writing small extension functions, but I have no idea how I can return an DOCTYPE. -----Original Message----- From: Yates, Danny (ANTS) [mailto:danny.yates@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: donderdag 16 januari 2003 11:00 To: 'xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: RE: [xsl] Generating variable DOCTYPE Ismaël, This only works if your result is a serialised XML document. If, instead of writing to a file or socket or whatever, you were to send the output of the transform to a DOM tree, you'd end up with a text node containing a bunch of characters which looks like a DOCTYPE definition. You would NOT end up with a proper DOCTYPE node in the DOM tree. Dan. XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
