Hi David

Thanks for the quick response.

I now want to use variables instead of explicit values in the match pattern,
but according to the manual this is not allowed.

How do I adapt the code below to accept variables?

Kind regards.

<xsl:template match="price">
 <xsl:copy-of select="."/>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="price[position()=4]">
 <xsl:copy-of select="self::*[. >= preceding-sibling::price[1]]"/>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="price[position()=3]">
 <xsl:copy-of select="self::*[. > following-sibling::price[1]]"/>
</xsl:template>

David
