Hi,

  Send your variable as a parameter to the template you want to use the
variable in, through apply-template.

for example:
	<xsl:apply-templates select ="/root/ids" >
		<xsl:with-param name="foo" select="$var1"/>
	</xsl:apply-template>

	<xsl:template name="ids" match="ids">
    		<xsl:param name="foo"/>
		.... more xsl code
	</xsl:template>

	use the param foo as a normal variable in the template.

Regards
Manpreet

Subject: [xsl] read variable from another template

Hi!
Anyone knows how to read a variable value from another template in the
same document?

for example:
<xsl:template match="/root">
  <xsl-variable name="var1" select="/root/valor" />
.... more xsl code
           <xsl:apply-templates select ="/root/ids" />
.... more xsl code
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template name="ids" match="ids">
    <xsl:value-of select="$var1/>
.... more xsl code
</xsl:template>

something like that....
I need to use a value given in the first template.

regards.
