Didn't the parent company of Penthouse and Omni buy the Compute! family of
magazines at one point?  I wonder if it might be worthwhile starting there?

I think the book is good enough that if we could track down who owns
COMPUTE!'s copyright and get permission, we should scan the book and get it
into pdf form asap.  Though admittedly I've thought that for years and
haven't started tracking yet.  :(

So if you can get a copy, you'll be up and programming in no time.  The
quick reference in the back is great as well.
