If I understand you correct, you are calculating that bit for the normal PF-registers, and THEN you decide, if you have to reverse it.
Why don't you calculate the values for the reversed PF-registers directly?

Because I don't know of an easy routine to do that.

I've got something in a mixture of pcode and assembly in my source where I'm trying to mentally wrap around the problem. It sounds doable, but as it's shaping up, it looks like it will take more CPU time than I would like to rather save for the AI.

I will be uploading my ASM tonight, not so much because I have anything working, but just to see how much initial help I get in fixing this stupid playfield kernel so the data spools out of it correctly and the screen doesn't roll.

I've been spending too much time organizing my data and not enough time tackling the actual code and it's time to hold out my hand and ask for guidance.
