[Virtools] HOW TO: Dev 2.1 upgrade

Mea Culpa: I've gotten so many questions about the upgrade process, let me start from the beginning. First of all, the download process will not be taking place via the Support Site, since there are still problems with new registrations.
 
Here is how to upgrade to Dev 2.1:
 
- First, download and fill out the form, available here:
http://www.virtools.com/solutions/products/virtools_dev_upgrade2_1_order.asp
 
- Return the document as an email attachment to leal@virtools.com
 
- If you choose the download option, you'll receive instructions by email on how to download the files by FTP.
 
There are two files to choose from. One is 15 MB and contains the EXE and documentation. The other is 98 MB and contains all of the above, plus additional resources and samples.

We are getting reports that some people are having trouble installing the patch that is now available on the FTP site. (Those of you that returned your upgrade forms should get an email from me).
 
It seems there are two published versions of Dev 2.0, and depending on the one you have, you may get an installation error when you try to install the Dev 2.1 patch.
 
We are in the process of making a new patch file, so PLEASE HOLD OFF FROM DOWNLOADING THE PATCHES UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING if you can wait.

PS: If you really can't wait, try to instal the patch containing just the exe and documentation.... (15 MB)
