you first ned to know how many entries you have

<xsl:variable name="x" select="count(model)"/>

then you need to decide how many columns you have (say three)

<xsl:variable name="rows" select="ceiling($x div 3)"/>

Now you want a table

each row correspond's to the entries up to the number of rows

<xsl:for-each select="model[position()&lt;$rows]">
in this row you want
<td><xsl:value-of select="."/></td>
<td><xsl:value-of select="following-sibling::model[$rows]"/></td>
<td><xsl:value-of select="following-sibling::model[2 * $rows]"/></td>
