I am not using Saxon 8.8 and use java parser to do the same. for loop syntax is nt working in there,

Yes, there were errors in my template, it's getting a bit late over here, but nothing unusual, just a few typos, easy enough to fix if you follow the syntax error messages. A fix (checked and compiled with Saxon 8.8):
<xsl:template match="products"> <xsl:copy><xsl:apply-templates select="customer" /></xsl:copy> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="customer"> <xsl:copy-of select="for $n in (1 to 10) return ." /> </xsl:template>
