I'm beginning to think this was a bad idea but.... ....to simplify my life and reclaim some vast expanses of disk space sucked up by the kitchen-sink teTeX distribution, I thought I'd zap it and build a minimal TeX installation to support jadetex which is the only thing I really use TeX for these days. So much for simplification. It seems that jadetex directly or indirectly depended on just about everything in the kitchen-sink distribution! Okay, I'm exagerating but web2c + latex(2e) + packages + dvips + jadetex (cooked) doesn't fly. I'm apparently missing serveral other pieces--some fonts I know, possibly other pieces. It's been about about 5 years since I used TeX extensively and things have seem to have gotten WAY more complicated since then.[1] Does anyone know exactly what jadetex really needs? A "CTAN shopping list" would be most helpful. thanks, -john 1. Maybe somebody should write a TeX macro to plot a LaTeX macro dependency graph!
