Job
Distribution Services
(March 27, 2001) We're in the middle of pulling developing a rush
report on the emerging universe of Job Distribution systems. Although the
individual services each claim minor market distinctions, they all provide
one essential service: you use them to post jobs in a variety of settings.
We believe that these companies and their rapid emergence constitute a
new wave of emerging entity in electronic recruiting. Ranging from the low
tech to the hyper technical (CareerCast, for example), these data
clearinghouses are the foundation of the next generation of Recruitment
Advertising agency.
The largest and most influential of these operations is RecruitUSA, a familiar landmark to
our regular readers. Their success has spawned the launch of a number of
new competitors and the reshaping of some old favorites. Rumor has it that
Monster is soon to launch an offering called JobViper. HodesIQ also comes from the traditional
ad agency world.
Both eQuest and IIRC maintain that their market
distinction stems from the ability to completely control the destinations
involved in the process. Whotochoose includes evaluations of
job boards that can be used in the decision making process. Net-Temps has always included job
broadcasting for its clients as an integral part of its service. The Recruiter's Online Network
invested so much energy in job distribution that they have rolled out a
second company to exclusively manage the business.
With all of the claims and counter claims, it is terribly difficult to
decide which of these services to use. Should you ever use two of them?
Which are likely to stay in business?
In early April, we be publishing a report that tries to come to grips
with these and other issues. Stay tuned.
After identifying about 25 competitors in the arena, we're betting
that there are even more that we are unaware of. The services that have
made our list have all been contacted and are in the process of filling
out data sheets. If your company provides job posting services (job
distribution) and hasn't been contacted, please let us know by sending
email to gpryor@interbiznet.com.
