Subject: Administrivia -changed From: DSSSList Owner <dssslist-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat, 1 Nov 1997 23:43:11 -0500 (EST) |
Note about cross-posting added, "XS:" note updated to mention XSL. ------------------------------------------------------------ This information is posted to the DSSSList under the subject line "Administrivia" at regular intervals. If the details change between postings, the subject line is "Administrivia -changed", otherwise the posting will be the same as the previous posting. DAILY DIGEST ============ Daily digests -- copies of a whole days DSSSList messages (or a 40,000 character chunk, whichever comes first) sent as one email message -- are available. Not only is it one mail message containing all of that day's DSSSList messages, it averages half the bytes of the individual messages since it doesn't include the overhead of the mail headers from each message. To unsubscribe from the list and subscribe to the digest, send mail to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with the following two lines as the body of your message: unsubscribe dssslist subscribe dssslist-digest POSTING ======= Only subscribers can post to DSSSList, and only from the address they used when they subscribed. There is no restriction on what may be posted provided it is related to DSSSL. Both subscribers to DSSSList@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and subscribers to DSSSList-Digest@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx should post their messages to DSSSList@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, and the messages will be received by both subscribers to the list and subscribers to the digest. REPLYING TO POSTS ================= The reply address of DSSSList messages (and of digests) is dssslist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx so replies go to the list by default. If you want to reply to just the author of a post, you should change the "To:" field in your reply. CROSS-POSTING ============= Cross-posting to the DSSSList and to another list is often counter-productive unless everybody who replies to the thread is on both lists. Cross-posts from non-subscribers continueing the thread will bounce, and DSSSList subscribers who are not also on the other list will only see half of the thread, as will those on the other list who are not also on the DSSSList. UNSUBSCRIBING FROM DSSSLIST =========================== To unsubscribe from the list, send mail to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe dssslist" as the body of your message. UNSUBSCRIBING FROM THE DIGEST ============================= To unsubscribe from the digest, send mail to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe dssslist-digest" as the body of your message. ARCHIVE ======= DSSSList messages are archived at http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist/archive. ARCHIVE SEARCH ============== A search facility for the DSSSList archive is available at http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist/search.html. "XS: " AND "DD: " IN SUBJECT LINES ================================== Subject lines beginning with "XS: " in the archive are posts related to the discussion of xml-style. xml-style was a precursor to the current XSL deliverable of the XML effort. The appropriate place to discuss XSL at this time is the XML mailing list. Subject lines beginning with "DD: " are posts related to the DSSSL documentation project.
