Subject: jade/docbook/norm walsh's stylesheets upgrade? From: "Thomas G. Lockhart" <lockhart@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 23 Dec 1997 17:07:48 +0000 |
Hello. I'm working with the PostgreSQL database project, and am trying to get new documentation written. I have some experience with sgml-tools v0.99.0 and have converted ~100 pages of existing docs to docbook and have generated html and dvi/postscript using jade/docbook Linux RPMs provided by Cygnus Solutions. These docs make extensive use of tables, and the Norm Walsh v0.89 style sheets I am using do not support tables in html and put table items in the wrong places for tex/postscript (e.g. header rows are placed at the bottom, right above footer rows). So, I would like to upgrade the stylesheets to the v0.9x versions from Norm, which mention that table support has been updated. My problem is that in v0.9 the html and tex sheets need to go into different directories, whereas the old style sheets can coexist in the same directory. So, do some catalogs, which are _not_ supplied with the style sheets, need to get updated? If so, which ones? Also, Norm's web page makes mention of nsgmlsu, which is not on my system; I assume it is not equivalent to nsgmls, which _is_ in the packages. Does anyone have some hints or suggestions on the best way for me to proceed? Perhaps there is another place I can look for this information, but I haven't found it. I'm reluctant to start ripping apart a working-but-not-sufficient installation without a few more clues. Unfortunately, Cygnus did not respond to any of my followup questions, so I don't know what their timeframe is for RPM updates. TIA - Tom These RPMs use jade/1.0.1, jadetex/0.51, and Norm Walsh's v0.89 style sheets. The packages put all style sheets into the same directory (/usr/lib/sgml/stylesheets/).
