Comments regarding the recent discussion on dssslist re jadetex: (sent to you personally rather than to the list, because I'm having trouble sending to dssslist from this mail address) The problem with rules drawn to the full width in multicolumns: May that be related with multicols.sty not changing \columnwidth (I vaguely remember reading about this in the docs). I see that jadetex uses \columnwidth in some places. The problems with versions of jadetex/hyperref/babel: Wouldn't it be nice to use LaTeXs version mechanism for that, ie write eg \RequirePackage{hyperref}[1998/01/01] Then people would have a chance to spot possible problems with their TeX setup from the log.
