Subject: RE: Sorted indexes and (string<?) in Jade From: Avi Kivity <Avi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sun, 27 Sep 1998 17:04:45 +0200 |
From: Norman Walsh [SMTP:ndw@xxxxxxxxxx] / Thomas Corte <thomas@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> was heard to say: | trying to create an Index from DocBook Indexterms, I think there | is another problem besides sorting the strings. If the same | Indexterm appears several times on page x, all I can get | with Jade | is something like | | <subject> <page x>, <page x>, <page y> Since Jade can't know the page numbers, how are you getting this much? Jade knows the page numbers as generated objects. These can only be compared by general-indirect-sosofo. Is this implemented by Jade? It seems impossible in the RTF backend. With general-indirect-sosofo, sorting and removing duplicates would be trivial. Avi DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist
