Subject: DocBook Converts into too many HTML Pages From: "Juliane Harbarth" <jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 5 Jan 1999 15:30:58 -0000 |
I am using jade to convert DocBook instances to HTML and
the results are quite promising so far. Our DocBook instances
when converted result in as much HTML-pages as expected,
i.e. the SET, the BOOKs and the CHAPTERs each become a
page and each SECT1 becomes it's own page whereas the
first SECT1 of each CHAPTER is contained in the CHAPTER's
page.
The first thing that occurred to us as not being in accordance
with our taste is that both, CHAPTERs and SECT1s, begin
with a H1-header thus making the HTML page representing the
CHAPTER and the first SECT1 containing two H1-headers.
This could be mended by setting the 'renderas' attribute to
SECT n+1 for each SECT n.
The second problem is that we would like the result to consist of
fewer but bigger pages, i.e. we would appreciate a CHAPTER
to be converted into a single HTML page containing all the
CHAPTER's SECT1s.
1. Is there an appropriate DocBook stylesheet-parameter
I can use ?
2. Are there any DocBook attributes for SECTs that can be
set accordingly ?
3. Do I have to adopt the DocBook stylesheets ?
