I can answer my own question now ... does that make me a grove guru ?

jade turns this into a node of class entity with enttype='text and
text="<test>". I think the full details of the declaration (eg the 
fact that it was a bracketed text entity) could be retrieved from
the entitydecl property if jade would support it.
