Subject: [jats-list] Coding non-Gregorian years From: tokizane <tokizane@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 14 Sep 2011 16:27:47 +0900 |
We are digitizing old journal articles in Japanese among which publication years of cited references contain non-Gregorian years, i.e., Japanse Emperor years. This will become more challenging if we are to code humanity artilces such as those of history or literature.
Thus we, SPJ Japan, would like to propose a new attribute, @calender for <year>, <month> and <day>. Examples are as follows.
<year alt="2011" calendar="Islamic" xml:lang="en">1433</year> <year alt="1965" calendar="Japanese" xml:lang="ja">f-eece94</year>
