Subject: [jats-list] Authors identified by initials only From: "DUNN, Mark mark.dunn@xxxxxxx" <jats-list-service@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 2 Sep 2019 08:42:35 -0000 |
Hi, I'm seeking some advice or precedent on capturing authors who are identified only by their initials. This is something we see sometimes in 19th-century journals. Assuming we can identify the initial for the surname, I'm thinking of something like (for author "F.N.L."): <name> <surname>L.</surname> <given-names>F.N.</given-names> </name> or perhaps <name> <surname initials="L"/> <given-names initials="FN"/> </name> Does anyone have a recommendation or established practice for this situation?
