Subject: [jats-list] Title language in multilingual documents From: "Chiara Del Vescovo chiara.delvescovo@xxxxxxx" <jats-list-service@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 17 Sep 2025 15:54:59 -0000 |
Hi Daniel, When we have a paragraph with an inline text in a different language from the rest of the text, we use a <named-content> element with the attribute @specific-use="foreign-phrase". You can see it in an example in the Related Elements section of the <named-content> element page in BITS 2.1: https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/extensions/bits/tag-library/2.1/element/named-conten t.html However, we use it in a context where the language of the part differs from the language of the surrounding text. So, the question remains that we first need to define what the title language is.
