JATS-Con, the user conference for the NISO Z39.96-2021 Journal Article Tag Suite, will be held as a pre-conference day associated with the NISO Plus Baltimore <https://nationalinformationstandardsorganization.cmail20.com/t/j-i-ydlhttkd- l-r/> conference on February 16, 2026, at the Marriott Waterfront. This year, presenters unable to join JATS-Con in Baltimore may participate virtually. (Please note that the main NISO Plus conference is an *in-person* event.) *JATS-Con is seeking papers <https://nationalinformationstandardsorganization.cmail20.com/t/j-i-ydlhttkd- l-y/> *relevant to the use or non-use of the JATS or an extension such as the Book Interchange Tag Suite (BITS), TaxPub, or the NISO Standards Tag Set (NISO STS). The following topics are suggestions only: B7 The creation, presentation, manipulation, and/or storage of content tagged according to one of the models in the Tag Suite. B7 Modification or customization of one of the models in the Tag Suite or creation of a new model using the Tag Suite. B7 Location of the models in a workflow. B7 Tools or resources developed or desired for working with content tagged using the Tag Suite. B7 Desired enhancements to the Tag Suite. Presentations will be 35 minutes long, in English, followed by 10 minutes of q&a and audience discussion. *Please submit your paper proposals via the submission form <https://nationalinformationstandardsorganization.cmail20.com/t/j-i-ydlhttkd- l-j/> by December 12, 2025. * Presenters at JATS-Con are required to: B7 Provide a full paper, in XML, using the Article Authoring Tag Set on or before January 30, 2026. B7 Give a 35-min presentation, in English, based on the paper at NISO Plus in Baltimore, MD or remotely over Zoom. B7 Participate in a 10-min discussion with the audience immediately after the paper is presented. B7 Provide on-site materials (slides) to the conference committee in HTML, PowerPoint, PDF, or OpenOffice format. B7 Grant permission to the NLM to archive and post a copy of the paper and onsite materials on the conference proceedings website. The JATS-Con Proceedings will be published on the NCBI Bookshelf, freely available to the public.
