Subject: [jats-list] Join the JATS4R CREC Subgroup

Join a newly forming JATS4R working group to create a tagging recommendation
for CREC.

Although this group was inspired by the publication of the NISO CREC
recommendation (https://www.niso.org/publications/rp-45-2024-crec), and we
will address metadata taggin of retractions and EOCs, I'm expecting that this
J4R group will also address Corrections/Errata and linking between CRECs and
the articles that they CREC.

So what do we mean by CREC? Our first task will be to scope our work, and then
we will develop a new J4R tagging recommendation for this type of content. If
you are interested in joining the subgroup please contact me at
beck.jeff@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:beck.jeff@xxxxxxxxx> by December 1, 2025, and we
will arrange the first meeting.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in JATS4R and share your expertise
as well as learn from others and work with new people.

JATS4R is a voluntary organization and the subgroups rely on the time and
expertise of the community to build the recommendations which then help
ensure
metadata is consistent and reusable across platforms.

The subgroups are a time-limited commitment and usually involve a one hour
meeting once every 2 weeks until the new recommendation is ready for
community
review.

Thank you
Jeffrey Beck
