Hi Micah, 90 000$ for both XSL PDF FO implementation and XSL implementation on Mozilla is not what I can call deep pockets. Just think of a developer year salary, look at the number mentioned and I am not sure we can call that deep pockets. Also, to add FO (not PDF but usual one in the layout engine) require work in the layout engine, the DOM and the XSL engine. This is not cheap. At least in terms of time. Also, the layout engine is just finished to be remade as a component and several points of its architecture has been reworked. The RFP on April 1 looks more like an April's fool :-) regards Didier PH Martin mailto:martind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.netfolder.com -----Original Message----- From: owner-xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:owner-xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Micah Dubinko Sent: Sunday, April 18, 1999 2:38 PM To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Adobe/Sun FO grants Hi all, "Didier PH Martin" <martind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > For Mozilla especially, the cost to move to new FOs is > simply not affordable because there is no big pockets behind the project > anymore . Weren't Sun and Adobe supposed to be putting up cash prizes for FO implementations? ... Yes, according to xml.com : "An RFP will be issued April 1" Anyone know what's going on there? .micah XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
