Subject: How do Comments affect Performance? From: "Paul Essex" <paul@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 26 Sep 2000 11:30:56 -0500 |
Does anybody have any idea how much comments inside a stylesheet can affect the speed of transformations? I'd like to use comments to describe what's going on in each part of my stylesheet, with the idea that our clients could then use their internal resources to make any modifications they require to make the HTML output match more closely to their internal website design. My concern is that too many comments could slow down the transformation, and ultimately affect the overall speed of our product. My sense from what I've seen so far is that the processing of comments depends on which XSLT processor you use, but that most of them just pass over the comments without acting on them. Can anyone confirm that? Paul Essex Software Developer Bridgeway Software, Inc. XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
