Ok but do we want to wait another year for things that were on the brink
of being delivered back in April?

I am not an implementor but hey it must be easy to implement the stuff
we are talking about without schema. But I can see that it is heaps of
work to go the whole hog. Let's (/them, implementors) do it in stages.
There is a falback mechanism that caters for this. Ok it isn't perfect
and it is verbose but we need some of this stuff now not in 2 years
time. And there might be implementations that never go the whole hog
because it is just too much work but can deliver all the goodies without
schema. There are places that don't even need it! Like my fridge. Unless
it gets funny about dates...... and has a fight with my microwave.

This is an xsl list so xquery is a bit like a swear word but it will
happen and there will be a convergence without doubt. Let's just say it
will be a few versions further on from the next version of x slt/path.

Please don't get me wrong on this. A fully schema aware processor would
knock the crap out of what we have now and would save shed loads of time
in development but is it worth dlaying the other stuff we need!
yesterday? Let's face it most of this stuff is already being poured out
of the mixer but is waiting for the v2003 brand. I don't want to wait
that long!

I don't think it will end up in anything even close to the XSL/WD
problem we have now. It will just make people more aware of namespaces.
Which people should be aware of anyway. Hey you can't expect to cash in
chips from one casino in a post office!!

Ciao Chris
