I think DC is right, its just on the stated group-by property. I also think I'm right but I don't understand what you mean by teh second half of the above. So I was wrong in assuming duplicates are removed! It wouldn't make sense to remove items with the same value for the group-by property as they are the things you are putting in each group. Clearly you want more than one thing in a group in general otherwise it would be a remove-duplicates function, not a grouping construct.
