Erm... I'm not sure if I understood your question, but the short answer is no. If you want LATIN SMALL E WITH ACUTE character, use é in your stylesheet, and if you've set the output method to HTML, it will be output as é, and as character entity reference or the character itself with XML output method. See the XSLT FAQ for more info on entities.
