[xsl] change param with a browser! with an URL parameter

hallo,
in addidion to my question a few days before: 
Is it possible to transport a URL parameter from an link to the stylesheet (
the link is an element of this stylesheet) to change the value of a variable
in the same stylesheet by refreshing the browser?
I know that the transport at the server- side is possible, but to take work
from the server the browser should do this work.
