Wendell, If I'm not mistaken this is because Xalan is now part of the runtime (rt.jar) and as such (in looking at the package structure of RT.jar) would now be referenced using "com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xslt.Process". It seems there would have been an effort to support the existing classpath structure but for obvious reasons I dont spend much time working with Xalan and as such don't know if there is a built in mechanism that is part of the compilation process that autmagically references the correct classpath when using the now older classpath reference.
