Forgot to mention how we came to use 'transform'. Originally, we used the term 'SAX transform' to describe SAX based filters etc that perform transformations. That led us very quickly to use 'XSL Transform' for XSLT documents, which was eventually cut to plain 'transform' since we only use SAX transformers in special cases where memory is an issue. In other words, XSLT is our default transformation language.
