I know the idea, which is called the Piez method.

However, from what you wrote it followed that in order to produce the
wanted result using XSLT *at all cases*, one *had* to have a
stylesheet xml document with that many nodes etc.

This, of course, is not true and sounds like a joke.

We have to pay attention to what we write.
