You're right, this is the wrong list, but I *believe* DSSSL was made for SGML transformations. Check Wikipedia to verify that. I also believe MulberryTech maintains a DSSSL mailing list quite like this one; you'll have better luck there, if it turns out DSSSL is what you need.
(p.s. why are you using SGML and not XML?)
