Development Group Overview:
The 401k Company / Systems Print group provides application development
and support services to The 401k Company, which is part of the Schwab
Corporate & Retirement Services organization. The primary focus of this
group is to support the production and fulfillment of client financial
statements, transaction confirmations, and customer communications. The
successful candidate will initially focus on supporting proprietary
content management systems developed in multiple technologies.

Position Description:
1. Responsible for design, analysis, coding, testing, trouble shooting,
debugging, documentation and implementation of new development.
2. Work closely with the technology team, business team, testing team,
and other technology teams within Schwab and implement system solutions
   that are consistent with strategic business and technical objectives.

Requirements:
Senior Developer with in-depth experience in XSL transformations
including formatting objects and specifications and a total of eight
years of development experience. The ideal candidate would have
successfully implemented a project using one of the Agile development
methodologies and must be comfortable with two week development
iterations, test driven development and continuous integration.  This
position requires skills in many technologies spanning XML, XSLT 2.0,
XPATH, XSL-FO, XSD, and Java XML APIs.  Ideal candidate will be able to
discuss transformation semantics, concepts of stylesheet design, and xml
transformation architecture.  Applicant should be self-driven, creative,
and possess the ability to design and communicate innovative solutions
using industry accepted tools. Experience with Saxon and XEP is
preferred. Prior experience with financial services companies (401k
retirement applications especially) or content management systems is a
plus.

      willingly shares knowledge and skills and spends time mentoring
less senior developers

demonstrated ability to achieve success on large, complex applications

This position is a temporary contract or contract-to-hire position for
the right candidate.  The work location is Austin, TX. Successful
applicants must be able to work in the U.S. and must pass a background
screen and credit check.
