It might be clearer to bind "\p{IsCJKUnifiedIdeographs}" to the variable ...

<xsl:variable name="CJKChars" select="'\p{IsCJKUnifiedIdeographs}'"/>

and then in the regex you can have "{$CJKChars}".

Then, no curly braces need be escaped at all, since they serve as an 
AVT only where you want them to.
